Hi Hal,

You are correct; you have to remove at least one if not both strips to
remove the windows in most boats with this set up.

Have a nice one

Perry--In my 1973 34 foot, there are screws under the plastic strips that
hold the double track in place. If I remember correctly there might have
been small holes in the plastic strip to access the screws. I had no luck
in just lifting the windows out and had to remove the double strips to do
so. Hal

Try trying to slide out the plastic felt strips. Spray the strips with
silicone to make them slide easier. Use a needle noise plier to grab one end
of the strip and pull. If this the kind I think you have they will slide
out. You then can lift out the windows to do your work. Capt.Perry

salon windows Another leaking window question: I have a '73 DCMY. My salon
windows sit on a white, plastic strip in the track. I am convinced the
source of my leaks are the window tracks. Are the screws holding the channel
under the plastic strip? If so, does the strip pull out somehow to rebed the
screws? I am not seeing the screws on top of the white strip. Thanks
