My ostentatious truck also exists, in large part, due to the demands
of towing my boat. With the loss of 4WD I now must consider what to
do if my rears start slipping, which I have already dealt with in some
sugar sand. I will get the info on my rear end, can you send me any
link to where you got your air locker, or one similar to it please?
The idea of getting a 14,000# truck stuck is upsetting, because I
don't think I know anyone with something big enough to get me unstuck.

I bought a dorm fridge cheap off of Craigslist and I am going to see
if I can get all of the components out of it to power my icebox. I
know the dorm fridge in the boat experiment doesn't work, I have tried
it. This fridge is rated at 3.5 amps (if I remember right) 110V,
which is about 50amps 12V (after inverter losses). I have a 450 amp
hour house battery, and I only want to be able to power the fridge for
a weekend, and I can run the engines for an hour or so to recharge
batteries. I am hoping the 5" of insulation around the icebox will
make this efficient enough to work, but if all else fails I didn't
spend much money and I will get kicks from trying.

I don't understand how you made yours work, isn't an AC compressor a
"high-temp" compressor that won't do for refrigeration? Also where
would you get a TX valve (without paying a lot)? Did you make your
own evaporator coil or take an already made one with fins and put that
in the glycol solution? I was looking at some evap. coils out of junk
cars today and one out of a compact car would probably be about the
right size......

Feel free to write a short book on this subject with step by step
instructions and lots of illustrations :)

Oh and include a list of sources for cheap parts too. I'll take a
signed copy.
