Ross Robertson Jakarta.
Hi,
2 subjects. Uniflite 38, Blister boat.
18 months ago I decided to bite the bullet, dry out the hull for 3 months on
the hard, strip off all damaged fibre glass below the waterline, grind out and
repair all blisters. Some were terrible! Then re-glass using polyvinyl ester
resin and 2 layers of roving.
This week, nervous, I docked .. and the result is beautiful... not a blister in
sight below the water-line. I am kicking myself I didn't do the hull
sides..where there are blisters. If anyone is interested in data I will be
happy to provide.
Propeller changes..
Am just about to fit new props. Does anybody have any pointers on this -- ..I
have 2 x 6/71 TIs rated 325HP at 2300rpm. I am told the distance between the
shaft center and hull is small therefore 4 blade props are best. Am being
proposed 24 diam 28pitch 4 blade nibral... Would welcome advice 0n 3 blade
versus 4 blade ? does anyone want to sell a pair in good condition?
