Bernie, thanks for the tip about the shift selector. After cleaning the screen, 
which was clean, I oiled the shift selector several times and it now shifts 
smooth as ever. Cruised from San Diego to Mission Bay and back this weekend 
(2:30 each way) with no problems. Thanks, Bob C.
