Hi Sarah, I hadn't had a chance to post about this yet, but wanted to let you and everyone know that we had a similar experience this weekend. I live on 47th and Hazel too. On Saturday morning my husband and I noticed that 3 of our first floor windows had the screens pushed up (a dining room window and the 2 front windows on the porch). When we went outside, we saw that some buckets had been pushed under the dining room windows (which are high off the ground), and there were two hand prints on the window. Whoever was trying to get in apparently either wasn't too bright and/or motivated because it seems like all they did was try to push the windows (which were all locked) open. There did not appear to be any signs of an attempted forced entry. We have an alarm and always keep the windows locked unless we're in the room, but we are also planning to install a bright motion light in the alley in an attempt to discourage anyone who might try this again. Other than that, we are not sure what other measures could be taken to protect the house.
I'm not sure if the person who broke into your house a few weeks ago (sorry to hear about that, by the way) is the same person as this time.
