Hi Sarah, We use ADT and have been happy with them. They are about $25 per month for the monitoring service, plus you have to pay for each thing you want installed (motion sensor, windor/door units) which are around $70 each. Once you buy these things, you own them and can take them with you if you move. You can also add on at any time if you want more units. I'm not sure how fast they are currently with appointments for new customers, but when I called to add on a couple of units, they offered me an appointment the same week, so they should be pretty fast getting to you if you decide to go with them.
There are a handful of other companies that I've seen signs for in the neighborhood - Slomin's comes to mind - but I don't know much about them or how their prices compare. Perhaps someone with another company will chime in with more opinions. Here are some websites for you to check out in the meantime: http://www.adt.com/wps/portal/adt http://residential.slomins.com/Main/index.cfm?pid=0&bhcp=1 Heather > Date: Tue, 9 Oct 2007 19:39:09 -0700 > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > CC: [email protected] > Subject: [UC] security system suggestions > > hi, all, > > thanks for your continued suggestions. can anyone recommend a good > security system company in the area? i'd like to get one installed > a.s.a.p. > > thanks, > sarah > > > > On Tue, 9 Oct 2007, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > > > > Hi Sarah, > > > > I hadn't had a chance to post about this yet, but wanted to let you and > > everyone know that we had a similar experience this weekend.
