Increasingly I'm under the impression that Linux, Slimserver, and me
make for a poor combination. My current problem or problems:

1, My playlists are all .m3u files in a directory called /playlists on
a FAT32 volume. Put the full path--/mnt/win/music/playlists--as the
place Slimserver should look for playlists, but it doesn't find them.
All of these files were created using Foobar on a machine running
Windows XP, and Slimserver recognized them on that machine.

2. Because I want artists sorted alphabetically by last name but
displaying with full name in correct order, I have fields that look
like:
ARTIST=John Coltrane ;McCoy Tyner ;...
ARTISTSORT=ColtraneJohn ;TynerMcCoy ;...
This used to work well under 6.1.1 on my Windows machine and I think
initially on my Linux set up. But now the Artists appear in an
apparently random order when browsing, and searching under 'A' will
turn up Andrew Rangell as well as Geri Allen.

If I run the "scan" with --diag on, I get lots of messages like this:
2005-11-01 15:40:12.7326 Use of uninitialized value in substitution
(s///) at /usr/local/slimserver/Slim/DataStores/DBI/DBIStore.pm line
1417.

I'm clueless (of course) about what's causing this behavior. Any
ideas?
Currently using 6.2.1 2005/11/1
