Oh boy, I tried installing slimserver manually and ran into every problem along the way and finally gave up. Thought I actually had a chance!! Linux, I'm starting to think it's more headache than it worth, yet, I really would like to get more familar with it so I can understand the "hype." So ok, I get these errors when I try to "apt-get install slimserver"
The following packages have unmet dependencies: slimserver: Depends: libclass-trigger-perl but it is not going to be installed Depends: libcompress-zlib-perl but it is not installable Depends: libtimedate-perl but it is not installable Depends: libdbi-perl but it is not installable Depends: libgd-gd2-noxpm-perl but it is not installable or libgd-gd2-perl but it is not installable Depends: libima-dbi-perl but it is not going to be installed Depends: librpc-xml-perl but it is not going to be installed Depends: libtemplate-perl but it is not installable Depends: libxml-parser-perl but it is not installable Depends: flac but it is not installable Depends: sox but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages If I try and do a "dpkg -P slimserver" I get an error that says that the deluser perl script doesn't have "slimserver" as a user. I don't know if this has to do with the manual install that I tried or not, but something is amiss! Any help would be great, otherwise I'll just make this a WinXP machine (hopefully that's a threat!!!!).
