Ok, so i can try to explain in details how i've done :

1) First and very IMPORTANT, before any operations, you must be sure
that the firmware version of the synology is 240 (or inferior), all
superior firmware like 280 or 284 doesn't support anymore telnet, the
bootstrap and the ipk package !!! So, when you buy a synology, don't
use the DS assistant on the CDROM, instead, use the DS assistant 240
that you can download here : ftp://tvesin.dyndns.org/public/Synology/
If you've already install another superior firmware, you cant try to
"downgrade" it to 240 (see here
:http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/DS101/EnableTelnet) but i don't
garantee the result... In any case, backup your data...
If you can't downgrade your firmware and have the 284 installed, don't
hesitate to mail your problem to synology, they will certainly answer
quickly...

2) After initializing the synology with the DS assistant 240, connect
to your synology (using the IP adress in your browser) and make sure to
enable the web service of the synology...

3) Now, it's time to follow the instructions given by MC FLY in the
head of this post. So, follow the link
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/DS101/DS101BootStrap and gain access to
telnet following the "prerequisites" instructions for the firmware 240.

4) Once you have enable telnet, just do what it's mentionned in the
page following the "option 1": download
ds101-bootstrap_0.1-8_powerpc.xsh (for the DS-101g+). Place it in the
public share of the synology and install it :
$ telnet <ip-of-your-ds-101G+>
$ login and password
$ cd /volume1/public
$ sh ds101-bootstrap_0.1-8_powerpc.xsh

After the installation, call "ipkg update"

5) You must now prepare the 2 IPK packages that must be installed on
your synology following the instructions given by MC FLY. For
processing his files, don't use cygwin or another linux/windows
application, this will never work. Instead, simply use a live CD (like
Kaella, see here : http://kaella.linux-azur.org/) and process the files
to obtain a "debian" (7 Mo) and a "slimserver" IPK package (6 Mo).

6)Copy these 2 packages in the public share of your synology and, again
using telnet like explain below 4), call "ipkg install debian***.ipk"
and "ipkg install slimserver***.ipk".

7) This is it ! After the install, you'll got the hostname to connect
to the slimserver on the synology (like //diskstation:x000). One more
thing : in the server setting, specify "/volume1/audio" because, by
default, the slimserver will automatically use that folder when it
reboots, even if you've specified another folder (i don't know why...).

8) Don't forget to configure your squeezebox for connecting it to your
diskstation and no more to your PC !

I've wrote this summary by memory but i can have forgotten one or two
things. Don't hesitate to mail me if you got any problem...

Hope this will help you,

Chander

PS : i can send you the 2 ipk packages if you want (13 Mo).
