Dan, you're obviously a developer - can you confirm or deny my theory regarding well tagged mp3's? I've tried to make sure that, for example, all artist names are equal for the one and same artist (meaning that I don't have 'The Clash', 'Clash, The' and 'Clash' in my collection). Does this affect the speed and delivery of the queries?
Only minimally. Depending on your settings for stripping out articles from artist / album names, or if you have namesort, fewer queries against the DB will happen at scan time.
