I've tried a few things, & now I can't tell if slimserver is installed
or not. If I do rpm -i <filename> it says slimserver is already
installed. If I do rpm -e <filename>, it says it's not installed.
It probably is installed. Try 'rpm -e slimserver' to remove it. You likely simply need to start the server now that all of the components are installed. See the wiki entry here for more details:
