Hi there. To my surprise aac/m4a streaming from linux server to my Squeezeboxv3 resulted in an error. After perusing various websites and this forum I thought I had a solution in using faad and messing about with the convert.conf file has told by the faq.
However... not so. trying the direct to wav approach got me just static noise mov wav * * [faad] -w -f 2 $FILE$ re-encoding to flc brought back some semblance of music; mov flc * * [faac] -w -f 2 $FILE$ | [flac] -cs --totally-silent --compression-level-0 --endian big --sign signed --channels 2 --bps 16 --sample-rate 44100 - but with some very annoying background hiss/static/noise... changing the endian to little as indiciated by a thread here just brought back the full noise instead of the music... I even upgraded the server to nightly build 6.5.1 2006-10-15 but with no difference to this... Running the faad application by itself (faad -o test.wav test.m4a) produces a very nice output so it's unlikely it's the faad program... :-( Anyone got any ideas? -- gojensen ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gojensen's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7991 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28691 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
