The two computers are in different floors of the house so switching isn't really convenient. Also, the external drive is formatted to ext3 for use on Linux, which I think gives a bit better performance.
Can you point me to what I need to do in Samba in general to get started? At the moment my XP net browser doesn't even see the CC box.
