I've eyeballed the instructions quickly and they look fine.
I didn't check to make sure the files it's asking you to
        download are still current/valid.

I would _not_ use FC3, even if you CAN find the ISOs. Without
question, FC6 is a significant improvement over FC3, especially
with how it handles things like external drives, etc. FC3 is no
longer being updated (right?), so you'd be installing a less
secure system. [Plus, having run it...FC6 is a lot nicer.]

The process for installing FC6 is easier than FC3, as well.
For the extras you'll need for Slimserver (and it really is
mild, even for a n00b), I'd refer to any number of additional
        instructions:

          http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-fc6.html
          http://carlesm.com/fedora-core-6-installation-notes/
          http://www.gagme.com/greg/linux/fc6-tips.php

I am a big Ubuntu fan and the machine I'm typing this from
is running Edgy. It's great. But for Slimserver, I find
the rpm packaging and FC6's services control much easier and
straightforward for the less experienced. The *only* challenge
I can think that FC6 might provide comes from mplayer/repository
issues which, if you stick just to the official ones and livna,
        you can avoid.
