I'm using SlimCD, which is Michael's distribution of DSL with the SS application as an extension. DSL is, in turn, based on Debian. I bought the basic DSM with no pen drive or compact flash since I already had a spare 1GB pen drive doing nothing. > > You are accessing the Buffalo TeraStation from DSL using Samba? > Yup, for all of 2 days now! My only question is how well it will scale in terms of the number of songs it will support before overflowing those 256MB. I'm only driving my basement SB at the moment. After a couple of weeks I'll add the main system SB, wait another couple of weeks and then retire the XP SS. > > I will go to the DSL forum - I guess I have been sort of avoiding that. > It does not appear as friendly as the Slim Device forum. > I've only searched for info there so I've not had any real experience of it - but this is a particularly friendly place.
