Hi Pat,
etc/fstab is where I looked first - but it didn't have any lines in it
at all referring to the external drive mounts (/dev/sda1 & /dev/sda5) -
it was only about 4 lines long, and only called out the internal drive
partitions (hda1 & hda5, I think they were), which is what sent me
looking for something else. The Ubuntu (Dapper Drake) automatically
mounted the external drive (and both partitions, one NTFS, one FAT32)
on start-up for me, so maybe Ubuntu has a slightly different setup than
other Linux systems? Obviously I don't have a clue - I'm learning to
swim in the deep end!
