Thanks, Chip, I noticed you gave that advice in an earlier thread. I am trying to sort through the logistics of how to do this simply. Keeping in mind that I would prefer XP/Linux interoperability, I need to find somewhere to store the data while I reformat the drive, etc. I might just get a second USB drive, format it ext2/3 (I can get drivers to make this usable on XP now, can't I?), and then just move the music folder over. Extra backup, only moving files once... should be quickest and easiest. Anything else I should consider?
