This may sound stupid (surprise), but try running it from
a different directory. You can do this easily by cd'ing your way
to a simple directory (with some mp3s) and typing:

        albumart-qt .

        [the dot is important]

I am not at my machine, but I have some faint memory of aa barfing
when running into files with certain encoding in the filenames.
If the directory you last ran in has a bad file, it will
continue to crash. I assume that nuking ~/.albumart will have
a similar effect, but also remove your other settings.

Like I said, though, I could be very wrong. I also know I've
seen your CD automount problem before, but can't remember what I
        did :-)
