Thanks for the replies again, and I suspect that you're right about the
scope of changes for 6.5. Backing out a new version had always worked
previously when required so I never thought twice about that.

I actually never specified any command line args when starting, and the
default was to keep the database and prefs outside of the installation
directory and which was great as running new versions always just
worked with just a minor perl tweak that was required each time.

6.3 is running OK now, and the playlists came back eventually,
including one that I'd hand created which work previously. I thought
that playlists were picked up on the fly, but I found that there was a
server option to refresh them so that was required.  The radio station
that I'd tried to access also started working, so I'm happy. I'll hold
off switching to 6.5 though and perhaps bite the bullet when 7 comes
out.
