bhaagsen >>> Actually, I'm not sure I'm working on the right thing here. The issue is that Softsqueeze freestanding and the applet you can open in SS (from server settings / help) seem to be broken. The freestanding SQ crashed and now won't reinstall from Help (although I previously had it running fine); and the applet sometimes opens, and several bits work - but if I press and hold 'Pause' to stop a track, the applet crashes, and only a reboot gets it back. (No reports in dmesg; don't know what other logs to look at.) I've tried updating SS to a more recent nightly, but no joy. I fear the next step is to do a clean install (though I guess I can always save and reinstall my prefs file, to avoid all the setting up.) > This GNU/Linux stuff lets you choose which version to use when you've > got several versions installed. Forgive me, but I don't understand how this lets you chose / switch between sun-java-5 and sun-java-6. -- Diana -- Diana ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Diana's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35565 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
