I upgraded from Slimserver 6.5.2 to Squeezecenter 7.0-1 last night. The old server ran fine. The new Squeezecenter install plays fine but the scanner is running endlessly and picks up nothing.
The machine is a 2.4GHZ Pentium with 1GB RAM. The OS is Fedora Core 6. The PC works exclusively as a server for my SB3. It has no other duties and has about 21,000 songs on the local drive. I uninstalled Slimserver and installed the Squeezecenter RPM. Initially I got an error that MySQL couldn't be located so I installed that. Afterwards Squeezecenter seemed to install just fine. The catch is the scanner is running endlessly. It ran all night to no avail. The only way anything shows up in the music database is to select and play it from the music folder. The scanner log shows completely empty. I don't think permissions are an issue. They are the same as before under Slimserver and I've made sure user Squeezecenter has reading/writing access permission to the music files. I uninstalled and reinstalled Squeezecenter. The machine has been rebooted several times. The current scan has been in process for about two hours and shows zero tracks, artists, albums and genres. Scan time under the old Slimserver was 15 or 20 minutes for a wipe/rescan. I like the new interface so would hate to go backwards to 6.5 but working correctly is more important than pretty to me. Any thoughts? -- mlsstl ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mlsstl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=43815 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
