Update 2: Just uninstalled Squeezecenter and reinstalled Slimserver 6.5.2. Everything is fine and all 21,033 songs are present. I did note in the Wiki that one person had talked about needing to change the ownership of a log file in order to scan, but that was for the same version of Slimserver that works correctly for me.
