Well, yes. I spin down the disk after a while when not in use, but I do not mind if it spins while using the system. General logs are written to a ramdisk so that does not matter. I run the the server 24/7 and my main goal is just to shout down the disk while at sleep and and away from the house (which is 60-70% of a normal day). I assume the server sw does not access the sql database other that when I make a request for and album etc? and when I do that it has to access the disk anyway to fetch music data. And yes, my plan is to have a replacement disk at hand fully prepared with OS etc - but not yet... -- Espen ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Espen's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15057 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=45718 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
