Fellow Linux users. I am looking for suggestions as to the best program for ripping cds and converting the files into FLAC. Coming from a Windows XP machine, the first 170 albums of my collection were ripped using Exact Audio Copy. I loved using this program. The sound quality and automatic conversion to FLAC is quite nice.
However, EAC seems to be spotty at best under WINE. I was able to get it running near perfectly once, only to have it crash every time I try to rip a cd now. There are many programs in Linux that are capable of ripping FLAC files. I am looking for a program native to linux that is as close to EAC's quality at accurately ripping CDs as possible. As a side note, I am running Ubuntu 8.04.
