I've used grip to rip most of my albums. The rip quality is generally good but depends on the drive you're using. I had to rerip some albums (mostly copy protected ones) with an older dvd drive because the first rip on my regular drive had intermittent pops and clicks. Grip can be very powerful as it allows for scripts to be executed after extraction or encoding.
