As a relative novice in the Linux/Ubuntu world, and having previously used EAC, I installed RubyRipper with no problems ... I found an automated script to do it all for me.
I think that I used the Ubuntu DEB from this page: http://linux.softpedia.com/progDownload/Rubyripper-Download-20741.html RubyRipper works well, automatically launches when I load an Audio CD in the drive, finds most albums in the database, allows me to edit tag info before ripping, automatically creates the FLACs and inserts ReplayGain values.
