In your setup, you use the new controller to manipulate softsqueeze
running on your headless server?  I guess you could do the same with a
latptop and access the SC web page.  Interesting idea!

So, this means that you have to have softsqueeze running on your
server.  Unless there is something else I don't know, you need a
windowing system along with Java to run softsqueeze.
