I don't know, have not needed to set charset in Putty in any other *NIX
for the last 10 years or so :) Also note the charset is wrong when
browsing with the SB as well.

The drive where the music is was created under another Linux, forgot
which one, so I thought I needed to pass the codepage to fstab but that
had no effect.
