If you just want something that works, and are not interested in learning some new stuff, then I'd say Windows.
However I do run SC on an old beat-up (PII 333 Mhz, 128 MB RAM) semi-dead laptop running Debian (well Knoppix hdd install) - performance is understandly slowish but acceptable - and things are very easy. Just have to type two commands to update to the latest version. So I'd suggest seeing if your stripped down Windows install works first, having the SlimCD (I presume it still exists?) live-CD close to hand if it doesn't... -- chrisinparis ------------------------------------------------------------------------ chrisinparis's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11963 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50310 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
