O.K., I went not into too much detail in my post, but I actually was quite systematic when I tried to enable it yesterday. ;) I have modified the halt script (remove -i argument) and also made so that the ethtool enables WoL when shutting down the machine (ethtool command in /etc/init.d/networking). This didn't work in Debian, but worked in Ubuntu, so after I power the machine up now ethtool tells me that WoL is enabled, which it didn't before my modifications. So much likely it is a network card driver issue, which is also hinted to at by the fact that 'lspci -vv' gives me this for the network card: "Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=0 PME-" It should be this: "Sorry for now, can't find the site atm because I didn't bookmark it, may add it later ;))" according to some info I found yesterday. I will try to compile the 8139 driver myself (didn't think of that possibility yesterday), hopefully I don't get stuck at that. Of course it would be nice to use a distro that simply works. ;)
