Hello,

I have just installed Clarkconnect 4.3 Community Edition for the first
time on my Tranquil T2e - which uses the Intel D945GCLF2 chipset.

Unfortunately, I cannot connect to the Clarkconnect machine through the
web interface from my client computer. The Clarkconnect machine and
client machine are both connected through a BT Homehub 1.5 router.

>From what little I can ascertain the problem seems to be that the
Clarkconnect machine is not connecting to the router. The following
information may be of assistance in diagnosing the problem...

When booting after installation the following message appears as the
various bit and pieces of Clarkconnect are loaded in:

Determining IP info for Eth0: Failed No Link Present ?Check Cable

When I log in as the adminstrator following booting up and launch the
"text mode console" the following information is displayed:

DNS Server #1: 127.0.0.1 DNS Server is not responding
DNS Server #2: 192.168.1.254 DNS Server is not responding

The DNS Server #2 IP address is the IP address of my BT Home Hub 1.5
router. The Clarkconnect machine is connected to the router, as is the
client machine. I don't know what the DNS Server #1 IP address relates
to.

When I set up Clarkconnect I chose a standalone setup using DHCP and
when prompted to type in an IP address for the DNS Nameserver I used
the IP address of the router. Basically, I was following the
instructions given here
http://www.ulverston.myzen.co.uk/mini-itx/pages/installingCC.htm

If anybody could help me get the Clarkconnect machine connected to the
router so that I can access it from my client machine (running Windows
XP) I would be extremely grateful. As you will have detected from the
above, I am a complete novice to linux and Clarkconnect so if any
advice could be provided in a suitably dumbed down format that would be
handy!

Thanks very much
Russ
