dingJam,

Note the process I am describing could be dangerous. By that I mean
that you could be forced to reinstall the machine. If that is a problem
then do not try my following suggestion. The minipc from dell is i386
compatible so it should work.

I was not aware that the lpia architecture that dell uses for this
ubuntu is one that optimizes for portable devices. In fact it is a
i386 architecture. I missed that in your previous posts. This
specifically for ubuntu. I am not knowledgable on that. Maybe there is
a way to foce an lpia arch to i386, yes there is I do not know what the
result will be see my note above.

You could try the following:

to your apt-get line when trying to install squeeze center add the
following
-o APT::Architecture=i386

i.e. you should now try

apt-get -o APT::Architecture=i386 update

this should force i386 architecture for your machine.

then try the

apt-get -o APT::Architecture=i386 install squeezecenter

That should force the arch you need for this app. I do not know what
the result will be for future updates. But if the pc you are using does
not need updatating and will only serve as squeezecenter server, you
should be good to go.
