I used the binary from the tar file linked, on Squeezecenter 7.3.3-26751, running on Ubuntu 8.10, AMD64.
Both mp3 and FLAC seem to play all the way through, but both have occasional dropouts, about 0.2 sec. Seems to occur every few minutes. Processor usage is about 1% for Squeezeslave.
