The underlying 'portaudio' (http://www.portaudio.com/) library, which provides a common API to control the different audio device drivers; ie Solaris, Direct Sound, MAC, OSS and ALSA, doesn't support native pulseaudio. When it does, I can add pulseaudio support to squeezeslave.
I'm currently working on ASIO support for windows and mac as libportaudio has recently added ASIO to the hostapi supported list.
