OK. A host of problems? Paste here: Here we find a group of reasons why USB is better: 1. It's external. At this time, the drives are cheap (AND EASY) from a storage viewpoint. All it takes is an "auto mount" option that keeps the volume and mount point and questions all changes to the configuration. In winders, it is possible to use "disk management" to assign a drive to a volume-id. This seems to become permanent (or otherwise managed by winders.)
