This should work perfect I use a similar rig at 1,2Ghz ? Something must be wrong ? What kind of files ? don't use anything thats needs transcoding like wma lossles or alac . Run a linux on it, without GUI or monitor etc. Web-UI ? don't use IE on the computers connected to the server use firefox or chrome, don't use web-UI on the server itself (that would be horribly slow I think).
