To add: having read this thread about the touch http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82070 it seems that I'm affecting the performance of my PC by having one massive directory instead of a number. What I'll look to do is create a few more (possibly 1 for each letter of the alphabet) and move files into these. Not sure if it is needed right now but long term may improve things.
