Triode, I traced your name from squeezebox touch w/TE8802 -> Enhanced Digital Output app -> squeezelite.
It was very nice of you to make squeezebox touch supports TE8802. Too sad I don't have a squeezebox touch and it is hard to find one. Besides, it is a little bit pricey for me. I think this question is the best be answered by you since you are the mastermind behind all these. Does squeezelite supports Async USB w/TE8802 OR VT1731, Now or In the Future?
