Well, the cost comparison should, in fairness include the cost of the local server, at least if you want to stream Spotify to PiCorePlayers etc. But I already had a Windows 2008 R2 server running for work. I just bought an HP Microserver which has a £50 cash-back from HP, which therefore works out at £125, close to the cost of a cheap NAS (and a lot more flexible.) It will be the "home server" to replace my old Buffalo LinkStation. Ubuntu server is free. Windows Home Server is pretty cheap. The thing I *-really -*like is this: To connect to my hi-fi, the Sonos Connect would be £279. My PiCorePlayer, with a HifiBerry DAC, USB wifi, SD card and a power supply, cost about £75? Plus the direct price comparisons between PiCorePlayers and Sonos stuff... Also (and I don't want to take away anything from the PiCorePlayer), but Logitech are currently selling the UE Smart Radio (which can be simply made into a Squeezebox Radio) for £109 with free shipping. Cheaper than the basic Sonos, although not as much fun to set up as a PiCorePlayer! Must send some money to Steen when I get paid, I suppose! :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Steve_I's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=62163 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97803
