Just investigated a bit further - its all the programmes and UK & non-UK live streams (from Radio1&Radio2 at least) that are played via the BBC iPlayer app. They are all apparently 48kHz that the Pi is playing at 44.1kHz. Restarting squeezelite or the Pi itself doesn't make a difference.
