Hi Everyone,

Excuse the linux-idiot question but how do I enable max_usb_current=1
when using piCorePlayer?

Can I just pop it into a Tweaks/User command field? My SSH skills are
woefully limited!

The long story: In troubleshooting the random continuous loud hiss issue
I've been documenting here, I tried a few different power supplies for
the Pi. I was convinced that I was not having power issues into the
Marantz SA8005 dac but got three different yet reproducible results w/
three power supplies:

1) Jerome linear supply, rated 5V, 3A: Works well, dac always locks
onto incoming sample rate but I get the occasional hissing fit every few
hours. Power cycling the dac restores the music to its former glory.
2) CanaKit wall wart rated 5V, 2.5A: Dac will lock onto incoming sample
rate, but not play music. Then it loses the lock and displays "USB
Unlock" then locks again. Cycle repeats and no music ever plays.
3) Front USB jack on a Rotel RDD-1580 dac, rated 5V, 2.1A. Marantz
never locks onto incoming sample rate.

So perhaps the Marantz is very sensitive to the incoming power, or maybe
my particular Pi (Model 2 B) is not quite putting out 5V via USB. There
is nothing else hooked up via USB on the Pi.

Therefore I'm thinking if I up the output current to 1.2A then maybe
it'll make a better connection to the dac - a stiffer supply that'll
keep the voltage up. I blocked the 5V bus power on a USB cable and the
dac did not lock on USB at all, so I'm not sure if it needs it to
handshake only or if the USB needs the 5V power. Perhaps a powered USB
hub between the Pi and dac might help...

Thanks again for your input and great software.
-Mike
