Well, it depends.

If you want to buy another pi, then the new one is about the same cost
as the previous version, so it's a no brainer, imo. (Don't forget you
may need the uprated power supply).

I have a rpi3, have done a headless install of Raspbian, Jessie-Lite and
put a LMS v7.9.0 nightly on it. Very Easy.

This replaced a pi2B+ (or whatever it was called). Can't say I have
noticed any differences between the two. I only stream really. I use a
wired connection.

So, no real advantage that I have found in the pi, but the updated
Raspbian is much more LMS friendly.

Go out and buy one (you know you really want to:p:D).
