Hey marflao Would/will you keep LMS on the synology ? If you intend to have the Pi hosting the LMS, then its going to be worth it, just for library rebuilds and playlist activities. I have played around with a Pi3 with pCP's built in LMS, its a very credible contender to replace my synology's LMS (eventually, once network shares are sorted)
maybe in the future the pCP team will add some killer feature that requires the extra cpu power. right now, there's not much to warrant a Pi3 over a Pi2 for just pCP (it's to darn efficient to need the extra cpu). Even on a Pi2 with a touch screen visualizations are fine.
