Just to close the loop on this post - I tried to rename they keys in the my ir config file to match the Squeezebox remote, but with no success. I've now built a new conf file from scratch with irrecord and it works beautifully. (All except the key mapping which needs some fine tuning to make it intuitive for the family!)
