For what it's worth, I found that normal microSD cards wear out in weird ways. Since switching exclusively to Transcend allegedy "high endurance" cards I haven't seen a single failure. Yet, anyway. I think it also helps to use a 32gig card even if you don't need the capacity because there's more available space to overwrite, hence less overwriting of the same smaller group of sectors.
