The boot log should show the WiFi hardware being detected - so that
might be enough.

Also - when you edited the WiFi configuration file ... did you use
Windows Notepad?
If yes - then that might be causing a problem because of differences in
how line endings are handled.
(Although I do remember reading that Windows 10 was going to include an
updated Notepad that preserved the line endings of the source file when
saving)
