Last night I replaced the Echo Dot with a better speaker (Aukey), it
showed up as a player in LMS and played no problem.

This morning after reading your quoted post I updated the BT package,
and tried to get it to work again, apparently the speaker is connected,
but doesn't show up as a player any more.

Removed (forget) the speaker, and started again, same result, doesn't
show up as a player.

Removed the BT package, rebooted and re-installed it again, same result,
connected but doesn't show up as a player.

After exactly one hour, I give up.

I just don't get it.

Too complex.

Sorry.
