I asked about adding HDMI CEC support during the beta cycle but there
was too much else going on.

I have just noticed that the libCEC people now appear to have added
support for using the Linux kernel CEC API which might make things
easier.

They added HAVE_LINUX_API at the start of April 2020 (although the
change is from 2017)
https://github.com/Pulse-Eight/libcec/commit/89a92a2838d0d164df24e6982ddea7a48eb9664e

Then I think the kernel config would need these to enabled
CONFIG_MEDIA_CEC_SUPPORT
CONFIG_DRM_VC4_HDMI_CEC
