I also have a question of handling USB devices. I have Harmon Kardon Soundsticks with USB attached and I switch them off when not in use. But when I switch them back on, I have to restart Squeezelite because otherwise the volume (I used alsamixer to set a higher level and saved this) is not correct.
Is this normal behaviour or did I miss some configuration option? I think I can handle this behaviour because I only have to automatically restart Squeezelite from my automation software (Home Assistant) when switching on the speakers. If the speakers are not attached and I try to restart Squeezelite (e.g. for an update), Squeezelite is not starting.
