There are usb Y splitter cables which have seperate data and power connectors. My suggestion is to try another OS, just to prove that it works properly Raspberry Pi OS Lite and install squeezelite would be my go to, then a version of pCP <7.0.0 Max2play can install squeezelite without a license.
